TCL - App issues

A global issue is currently affecting some TCL TVs with Google TV and may cause various apps to stop working properly. The issue does not only affect the LEPŠIA.TV app, but also apps such as Spotify.

The issue is caused by an update to the Android System WebView system component
(com.google.android.webview v. 148.0.7778.120).

The good news is that the solution is simple. You only need to uninstall the update. You can find the instructions below.

Uninstalling the update:

  • Start by clicking Quick settings (top right)
  • Then click All settings (top right)
  • Apps
  • Manage updates
  • View available updates
  • On this device
  • Android System WebView
  • Uninstall
  • OK

Alternatively, you can do the following:

  • Applications
  • Show all applications
  • (at the bottom) Show system applications
  • Android System WebView /com.google.android.webview/
  • Uninstall updates

After uninstalling the update and restarting the TV, the LEPŠIA.TV app should start working again.
